My name is Kim and I live in Chrey Village with my wife and 4 children. I am a tuk tuk and taxi driver so I can easily pick you up from the airport and take you to see many nearby temples including Angkor Wat and any other places you like.
Our village is quiet, very safe and 7 km out of Siem Reap city with a big lake close by for swimming. You can walk or take our bicycles and see a real Cambodian village and local people. You can also use our scooter.

We have a total of 5 private rooms for you to choose from with queen size bed(s), desk, cupboard, and a private bathroom with shower or bathtub. Three of the rooms have air conditioning and fans and two have fans. Laundry is also available.

My wife is a great cook and will be happy to provide you with a delicious breakfast ($2 per person) and lunch or dinner (3$ per person). Around our garden we have many mango trees, banana, papaya, orange, grapefruit and jackfruit which you can take as you like, and they provide cool shade for a hammock, which we have many.

A private traditional Cambodian cooking class is also available in our kitchen on request.

I also provide free English school to the children in our village in the afternoon/evening. Most families living in the villages cannot pay for language school so we provide all classes and materials we can to our students for free. You are very welcome to meet our students and help teach our English class if you would like, it would be our pleasure!
The price we ask for your stay goes to growing and building our school so we can take on more students and provide better opportunities for the children in our village.

We would like to give you the real Cambodian experience!

Merci Kim

We greatly appreciated our stay into Kim's guesthouse.
Kim drove us by tuktuk throughout Angkor temples during three days. The dinners provided at the guesthouse were very tasty and also cheap.
We also helped to the english school during one afternoon.
Kim is very commited to the development of his school, hence a part of the money you spend in the guesthouse (for accommodation, tuktuk, meals, etc) is used to buy materials and to develop the school.
As a whole we had a really nice stay during the 4 nights we had booked.

Kim Heak and his family were wonderful hosts, we felt so welcomed into their family home on the outskirts of Siem Reap. Kim was very kind and helpful by driving us on his Tuk Tuk to see the temples and other sites near and far, always with an esky filled with cold water and beer!
Kim's wife and children generously cooked us many delicious breakfasts and dinners, we felt very lucky to have this experience. We decided to stay 2 extra nights to make the most of their hospitality and kindness. We will treasure staying with Kim in our hearts forever and highly recommend everyone stay at Kim's homestay to support his family and his free English school for local children.

I had a great solo trip to Siem Reap and stayed with Mr Kimheak and his family for 4 nights. He has a big heart and I very much enjoyed hanging out with his family, friends and neighbors. He went out of his way to host and enjoyed having guests. We went to so many temples and the Kulen area/waterfall. I always felt safe in his Tuk tuk and on the back of his scooter. I had a blast helping teach English to the neighborhood kids too. If anyone is looking for an authentic Khmer family that will take you in as their own look no further.

Many thanks to Kim and her family for the week spent with them.
Their kindness and availability allowed us to discover a little better the daily life of a Khmer family. The region is magnificent. I recommend this Homestay for anyone looking for authenticity. Thank you for these beautiful moments that will remain etched in our memories.

We had a lovely stay with Kim and his family and his new born baby.
Kim is a very nice man and he took us around all the tourist places in his tut tut. His wife cooked delicious dinner for us.
Unfortunately we were unable to see his school children as we stayed at weekends but I left him with books to enable him to teach the children.
    Thank you very much Kim.
I will definitely tell my friends about his place.

Wonderful experience staying with Kim Heak. Would absolutely do this again and will recommend the same to my friends should they visit Siem Reap.

I stayed in the detached bungalow with my wife. Accommodations are modest, but they have everything you need, including a shower and A/C. The room was spotless when we arrived, and we had everything we needed for our stay, including towels, soap, food, and water. Nothing more you could really ask for during such a stay.

Kim Heak himself is a wonderful gentleman: humble, kind, and of extreme integrity. I will never forget his beaming smile as he picked us up from the airport. Kim Heak sets you up with all you need for a stay in Siem Reap: besides staying at his house, his wife will cook you fantastic (and huge) meals for $2-3pp/meal, and Kim Heak will additionally drive you around wherever you like, including restaurants/Pub Street and temples all day for $30/day. He knows all the best spots for lunch, supplies you with water during the day, and will take you to the museums around town as best fits the length of your stay. He's amazingly punctual, replies to all texts in minutes at most, and can pick you out from a crowd with no trouble at all. After leaving, my wife and I talked many times about how memorable it was to have him tour you around all day before relaxing under a ceiling fan at home for dinner with his dog Sir Ree at our feet.

It's also important to note that Kim Heak has been doing this since at least 2008 judging by the notes left behind from other travelers in his journals. As a personal mission, he uses proceeds from his homestay to fund a free English school in the community (primary education is not free in Cambodia). Prior reviews and notes tell me he's come along way in the past 15 years, and you can rest assured that what you spend here goes to improving lives in the Cambodian community in a tangible way. If you're even looking at a homestay, you're probably well aware that the tourist hotels in Cambodia are often run by local elites or foreign businesses in Asia/Europe that don't substantially reinvest in the country. Let there be no doubt that staying with Kim Heak is a small way to use your tourism to help change lives in Siem Reap for the better.
