House Rules

- Front Door - when leaving, you must always lock the front door unless you communicate with someone else still at home who will lock it after you leave. When you lock the door, please check that it is locked and make sure you have your house key with you. This is VERY important as the door does NOT self-lock. My not abiding to this rule, will be a problem.

- Curfew - Weeknights, you must by home by 10 pm. And weekends home by 12 am. If you will be later than usual, (ie. usually home by dinner but staying out a little later), please let us know via text or call.

- Guests - please ask us before inviting guests. We would like to meet your friends and therefore guests are NOT allowed when we (Jason/Elaine) are not home. We also cannot accommodate overnight guests.

- Quiet Time - is 10pm on weeknights. Please limit noise and keep voices quiet after this time if you are studying late.

- Bedroom cleaning - the vacuum is in the closet beside the 2 piece bathroom (powder room) on your floor. Please help yourself to that appliance and any other cleaning supplies under the bathroom sink. You will be responsible for cleaning your own linens as well. Let us know if you need any extra supplies. We recommend you vacuum once a week to keep dust under control.

- Bathrooms - note that we do not offer private bathrooms. Please keep counters clean (wipe off excess water). Note the personal items in the powder room may be asked to be removed when we have family/friends visiting. When taking a shower upstairs, please turn on the bathroom fan (timer buttons beside the light switch) to ensure that steam can escape (to prevent mold). The window by the shower is protected by a curtain during use. When finished, please open the curtain so that the air can circulate from the window (and prevent mold).
- you may also keep your toiletries in the shower on the rack and you can use a basket in the 2nd drawer to store things. The hooks behind the door can be used to store your bath towel when not in use.

- Meals -

Breakfast - most mornings we will prepare breakfast but sometimes this is not possible so please feel free to prepare your own breakfast (ie. yogurt, toast, cereal, fruit, etc)

Half Board (available for extra cost) - Dinner
Full Board (available for extra cost) - Lunch and Dinner

- Cooking - When you are new to our home (less than 3 months stay so far) for safety reasons, if you would like to cook, we have to be home/present. We want to make sure you are aware of all the safety measures especially if you are in inexperienced cook. Also when you use the kitchen, you must clean up after dishes, pans/pots and cooking utensils and put away.

Smoking Rules

Your host is a non-smoker.

Smoking is not allowed.

How do I book?

Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.

When do I pay?

Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) and a 25% deposit using a choice of payments: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal. The deposit is collected in advance on behalf of the host to protect against no show or late cancellations (within 7 days of arrival). You then pay your host the balance due on arrival. The 25% deposit payment is made to the host 2 business days after your scheduled arrival date. This deposit payment will only be refunded if you cancel the booking at least 7 full days prior to arrival.

When can I share my contact details?

Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
