Looking for professional guests from GAC, university guest lecturers, or post-graduate students for this guest room, which is on the main floor of a low-rise building of 8 units built in early post-war. Located parallel to Montreal Road, 1 block to the Rideau River, 10 minute bus ride to University of Ottawa and the City Centre. Coin-operated laundry is in the basement. TVs in the guest bedroom and living room offer Netflix, some international news, and many movie channels. Very bright rooms all around the apartment.

About the Area
Within walking/biking distance to GAC, grocery stores, city library, cafés, restaurants, pubs, several bus routes. We live 1 block from the Rideau River which is a very pleasant walking/biking path (see green area on the map). At the Rideau Sports Centre (on Donald St/River) there's a pedestrian bridge, which takes you in the direction of uOttawa campus as you walk or bike up Somerset Street to King Edward.

House Rules
1. Payment Method: Please note that we require our guests to pay 25% of the booking total to us in advance of the booking to hold your room (this is separate from the deposit that you have paid to Homestay.com). Please make this payment by Paypal. The balance is due on arrival day.
2. Cancellation Policy: We ask our guests to give us at least 7 days’ notice for any cancellation. The advance will not be returned if you cancel with fewer than 7 days' notice.
3. Guests must clean after themselves in the kitchen and bathroom. No eating in the bedrooms allowed.
4. Laundry card is available in a kitchen cabinet and loaded with money for a few wash and dry cycles ($2.75 each). There is aldo laundry soap and dryer sheets. There is 1 washing machine and 1 dryer in the bassement laundry room, and you can hang clothes to dry on one of several cords.

A few minutes walk to take a 20-minute bus directly to Centertown. Lyse made sure to provide what needed. Warm and comfortable room. Bread, eggs and milk are a plus. No coffee or black tea though. Noises from the upper floor and next door as the ceiling and wall were the design from 1950s.
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) and a 25% deposit using a choice of payments: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal. The deposit is collected in advance on behalf of the host to protect against no show or late cancellations (within 7 days of arrival). You then pay your host the balance due on arrival. The 25% deposit payment is made to the host 2 business days after your scheduled arrival date. This deposit payment will only be refunded if you cancel the booking at least 7 full days prior to arrival.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
