Hello everyone,
Despite advertising, I'm not always prepared to host because I occasionally rent out one or two bedrooms to a neat, decent students. Please reach out to me in advance if you need more details. The cost of renting can vary depending on how long you are renting for, such as two, four, or six months.
I'm a dynamic, fun-loving individual that delights in getting to know new individuals from various backgrounds. I speak both French and English and my house is located between Greenboro and South Keys where many Carleton University and University of Ottawa students rent rooms. Glebe area is about 30 min by bus.
Both rooms are on the second floor and come with all necessary amenities and utilities included (Discuss air conditioning) Additionally, guests will have a small fridge, hot water kettle, a microwave, and a toaster in close reach to their beds. For some additional price, nutritious meals are offered.
There are numerous parks where you can go running, play tennis, basketball, baseball, or bike along the routes. The Greenboro Community Centre, a few minutes away, also has a public library, a gym, and other activities. There are several shopping centres, coffee shops, etc., and just a short walk separates the home from the bus stations. Bus stops for routes 40 and 98 are just a short stroll away.
So, if you're looking for a healthy location to study, mingle, and participate in various activities, this is the place for you.
Note:
If you're new to Ottawa, we'll usually drive you around to make sure you're familiar with the area's amenities, including shopping and public transportation (bus, train, etc.).
Airport pick-up for students may be provided, depending on the schedule. I also assist you with obtaining your phone line, bus pass, etc. I have been intermittently renting to students from across the globe, and we have enjoyed getting to know folks from all over the world.
*Just as much as you like to know specifics about my house, I also like to know who will be arriving! :)

About the Area
Our House is located in a quiet beautiful family oriented neighborhood, step to Southkeys, Glebe and 15 mins by car to Airport. Bus stops are few mins walk from the house. Lots of shopping plaza's around and Greenboro Community center is just 4 mins walking distance and enjoy 2 floors of free library, Gym and plenty of other activities around.

Meals

House Rules
I provide pdf logic house rules when you book with me.
Some are:
- To respect covid rules so we all be safe.
- No smoking or cannabis.
- Guests or friends are not allowed.
- Respect for other's belongings and private space.
- Booking / Payments should be made in advance of arrival (to discuss with the owner)
- If any medical/health condition or food allergy etc. The owner must be aware of it.
- Cancellation Policy: Normally I ask my guests to give at least 15 or 30 days’ notice for any cancellation, (it depends).

Jay (Jean) is an excellent host with amazing cooking skills and warm hospitality. In addition, he made extra effort to pick me up and drop me off at the train station/airport. He also makes transportation easier for us by taking us shopping every weekend to locations like Costco and a few other stores. There are two bus stations nearby, and the neighbourhood is also pretty safe. Jay is an extremely friendly and caring person who will treat you like a member of his family. His stay was truly remarkable over the past few months, and I heartily suggest it.

Mi experiencia con Jay ha sido increible, el fue por mi al aeropuerto a la madrugada! Me mostro la ciudad, me explico temas basicos como el servicio de transporte y servicio de celular... la comida es saludable y de buena calidad, algo que es muy importante en Canada jaja ya entenderan por que lo digo cuando esten aqui... :) incialmente solo iba a estar 20 dias por que ya tenia reservado otro lugar, pero me gusto mucho la casa y el vecindario, asi que decidi quedarme por el resto del tiempo que tenia planeado estar en Canada, lo recomiendo 100% y me siento muy feliz de haber podido encontrar a una persona amable y confiable lejos de mi pais.
My experience with Jay has been incredible, he picked me up at the airport at 2am! He showed me around the city, he explained basic topics such as transportation and cell phone service... the food is healthy and of good quality, something that is very important in Canada haha you'll understand why I say it when you're here... :) Initially I was only going to stay for 20 days because I had already reserved another place, but I really liked the house and the neighborhood, so I decided to stay for the rest of the time I had planned to be in Canada.
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
