Maria Elena and Omar are great host, lovely family and the house is nice too. Is not far from the center. Omar was really friendly, polite and helpful and ever smiling. Thanks for all.

Omar's house is a clean and very well located house. The room that my husband and I stayed in had air conditioning and fan which work very well and a fridge with water and soft drinks.
Although the room had the window opening onto the kitchen, this did not bother us because we spent the day outside. The noise in the house is like in any other house with a familiar routine: people talk, watch TV ... so take your earplugs and everything will be fine.
Omar is a kind person and always willing to help. In our case, he helped us a lot.Obs. Although it is more expensive to order a taxi from the house, it is more comfortable and if something happens the taxi driver is close to the family. I thought I had forgotten my beach dress in the taxi, Omar called the taxi driver, who came back to the house. Unfortunately I had lost the dress on the beach.

Omar was very nice. The house is located near Malecon for a 20 min walk to peninsula (Juaga) and 15 min opposite way to the main square. It is not expensive and clean. No key to the outside door, so you must buzz to get in house.

Don't go here.Unfortunately this homestay was our most disappointing homestay in Cuba. The host Omar was not always available (to enable communication) and found his mother to be very abrupt, rude and made us feel an inconvenience and unwelcome. She did not even say goodbye and treated us with contempt. A bad atmosphere exists in this house. The bedroom was clean and tidy, but no window only to the kitchen (where the family functioned). It had poor ventilation and felt cramped. The breakfast was not the usual standard as we came to realise after 3 weeks travelling in Cuba, minimal and less food every morning. Noisy location with dogs barking. Also the mother/family had some 'domestic situations' (shouting/verbal fighting) which was very uncomfortable.
Omar was very nice and courteous, helpful and could see he had no control over the 'house situation'. Money was wanted immediately on arrival, hence we would have not left sooner and not stayed longer in this house.
(*Omar 'helped' with a taxi for a very high price to Trinidad, 1 hour away- arrange your own taxi/transport advised ).Host reply
