My place (and soon to be your home) is in one of the best locations in Lalibela.
Quiet and peaceful neighbourhood, 10 minutes walk to the centre of the town, 15 minute to the world Heritage sites (Churches of Lalibela), very safe to walk around.
A private room in the house where my girlfriend and I live in a local community in Lalibela. It is very clean and comfortable with a double bed. There is a lovely veranda and garden to eat, read or relax after exploring. You have access to two bathrooms – one is our en-suite which you can use all day and has a warm water shower and toilet, and the other is very basic with a ground toilet and cold shower only if required overnight. At night the area is quiet and you can expect a peaceful sleep. Breakfast is included in the price of eggs, Ethiopian bread with local organic Lalibela honey and traditional coffee or tea.
Me as a host am human therefore not perfect but when i host someone, i try my best to make them feel at home to the best of my capability.
My motto in life is to never give up no matter how hard life hits you; just keep getting back up
I have always dreamt to travel to the Caribbean, but all in due time.
I am a tourist guide in lalibela, I always love meeting new people and chat with different things. I like listing music, reading books and walking.

Welcome to the holy city of Lalibela, our house is located 15 minute walk from the churches. there is no HOTEL AROUND where our house located so it will helps you to experience the real life style of the locals, we are very happy to have you, we will try to help you with everything at your stay with us, we need you to experience our Ethiopian culture, how we prepare our traditional meal, local beer and coffee ceremony, we will try as much us we can you are enjoying your Stay at this Holy city Lalibela. Molla and his family are very kind and welcoming, and staying at their home will make you come into contact with a local family and its daily life.
The room has basic furnishment but is nice, the bathroom could be cleaner. The surroundings are very quiet and you can sleep well. The porch and the garden, where you can get breakfast (very good fresh-squeezed juice!), are beautiful.
Molla can arrange any visit and excursion at a fair price, however, he will try to program your day, including transportation and restaurant choice; If you’d like to walk and discover the little city by yourself, keep it in mind.
In Lalibela a guide is absloutely needed to visit the 11 churches, both to find the entrance (there are sometimes underground passages from one to the other) and to get in touch with the spirituality of who lives there.
Molla can arrange for you the best guides in the city, very kind and helpful and with a great knowledge of the sightseeing.
For other visits in the surrounding area a guide is not necessary (even if they are always professional and nice), a good guidebook is enough. You’ll have to arrange a car to get there though, which can be done by Molla.
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
