If you looking for luxury style accommodation then this is far from it, because what my family has to offer is an authentic Fijian Island life Experience.
My family and i live in Naqara, which is on the outskirts of Somosomo village, the Chiefly village on Taveuni. We are 2-3 minutes away from supermarkets, vegetables market, the bus station and conveniently walking distance from the only ATM on the island. We have 6 children, the eldest being 21 works away in one of the Islands, the 2nd being 20 is in Uni studying to be a School Teacher. Our 3rd & 4th are both boys and will be off to Boarding School on February, then we are only left with #5 & 6, who are in Year 4 and Kindergarten. If you be with us during the holidays then its a noisy pack with all the friends of friends and rellies stopping by. Otherwise my kids are pretty used to have Guests around and always love to share a game of cards etc.
We have a small kitchen and a living room. And Guests are always welcome to join us in the living room and also on our porch and watch the cars that drive up and down. We provide Lunch $15 each (packed to go if needed) and Dinners $25, including dessert of cakes with ice cream or fruit or even cookies with Hot Lemon Grass Tea. This has had to be increased with the increase in food prices as well as Gas prices. None of the places in town provide meals after 5pm so if you want to go eat out then you will have to travel by Taxi to other nearby eateries and taxi would cost you $40 return. The only other option really is to enjoy our Fiji Fusion meals but we always ask that you let us know in the morning so we can prepare ourselves. We also promote eating healthy so if you are vegetarians or vegans do not worry because we are more then happy to accommodate your dietary requirements.
The bedroom has 2 Mattresses which can be shared by 2 people or we can also put in a double mattress. If there is a 3rd person then the 3rd person sleeps on a single mattress while the couple uses the double mattress.
We are happy to help you enjoy your stay at the Garden island by planning your trips around all the exciting activities this beautiful island has to offer.
Our little village style town feels very rural and great get away if you wish to be off the beaten track of Fiji.

About the Area
We live in a rented house in Naqara that we share with our four kids and my mum. There are many families that live near us and we are just 2 minutes away from the main shopping centre, that's where the ATM is, restaurants and bakeries, supermarkets, and organic ice cream shop and also a shop selling diving and fishing gear. There's a little market and also barber shops and hair salons.

**Enthusiastic Review for the Homestay with Amoreena and Tabua**
My stay at Amoreena and Tabua's homestay was simply fantastic! This warm-hearted family welcomed me into their simple yet cozy home with open arms. I felt like a part of their family from the very beginning.
The guest room provided not only a comfortable mattress but also privacy. The hosts made sure that I lacked nothing. The authentic food was a culinary highlight, especially the shared preparation of coconut milk for the curry.
The family's children were charming – friendly, curious, and full of energy. Amoreena and Tabua proudly introduced me to their community and assisted me in planning my activities.
A stay with Amoreena and Tabua is an absolute must for every Taveuni visitor. It was undoubtedly one of the best experiences of my Fiji trip. I would come back immediately to relish their warm hospitality and the unique atmosphere once again.

Our stay at Amo’s place was exactly what we expected living directly in a village with her family. The children are lovely and their spirit wonderful, we had a really good time there. We celebrated Milly’s birthday and went to visit the water slides with Caleb. We feel completely included in the family so don’t hesitate a second !

Amoreena and Tambua were fantastic hosts. They are very friendly and hospitable and have a lovely family who will always make you welcome. Nana even repaired my torn shorts, doing a great job. They are great sources of local information that ensured I saw all the best attractions in Taveuni. Be prepared to play cards and enjoy Amoreena's and Filo's excellent cooking. Enjoy a very authentic experience of Fiji village life. Thanks to Amoreena, Tambua and all the family.

I stayed with Amo and her family for one night. Had I not been meeting a friend I would have stayed. They were all very hospital, generous and kind. I felt very welcome. I will stay in touch with her and would stay again.

Beautiful people, beautiful island! Amo and her family are so friendly and helpful and they make you feel so welcome. The only negative would be that the single bed is in the lounge so there is no privacy. Other than that it was a perfect stay.

Such a wonderful and welcoming family. We felt very much at home and fell in love with this family. Amo was on a work trip however her children, husband and her mother were all very helpful with activities and allowed us to assist with the meal preparations which we loved. We feel we had a very real Fijian experience and it was defitatley the highlight of Our trip.
How do I book?
Contact the host about your stay - tell them a little about yourself, why you are staying and ask any questions you have about their homestay. You will be able to book immediately after sending your message.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
