Yanutha Island is a small island with one village of less than 100 people. We are a community of fisherman. Our only transportation is by boat, even our school bus is a boat, and our income comes from the sea. The view is always beautiful and there are many nearby islands to explore.
I have two children among the dozens of kids you will see running and playing on the beaches of Yanutha. In the daytime, we can fish, hike, snorkel, swim and explore. At night there is beautiful stargazing, camping and countless kava circles to enjoy. Nearby there is a sunken volcano that has become a blue hole, filled with coral and untouched by waves. I promise, there will be endless adventure on Yanutha Island.
Excursions are $100 per person a day. This can include trips to the blue hole, hand line fishing, afternoon trolling, and hikes to see the ancient ruins on top of Cobia island.
Meals are $15 Fiji per person, per meal. We will happily make you 3 meals a day or pack a lunch for your adventures. We highly recommend utilizing this option as there are no cooking facilities offered to you and the food provided is delicious.
Yanutha Island is very remote. Because of this, there is $300 total transfer fee from Yanutha to Taveuni and back. This covers the fuel cost and boat rental.

About the Area
Our house is right on the beach along with a few other houses in the community. We use boats for all of our transportation. We go to Taveuni for fuel, food and other supplies. We get plenty of fresh food from the sea like fish, lobster, octopus and we have a garden for fresh vegetables. We are a village of fisherman, our source of income comes from the sea. Our island is pure with very few visitors: no hotels, no cars, no buses, no stores. Our island is beautiful and our people are friendly. It's 14 mile boat ride to and from Taveuni.

Best time ever!
The 6 nights we stayed with Willy, his family and the village on the wonderful island of Yanuca had been one of the best days ever! We travel for a year around the world, and we never experienced such a lovely time in any other place so far. The food was extraordinary delicious, and the portions big enough to feed 2 more people. The homestay is beautifully located directly on the beach, with a terrific sunrise. We enjoyed watching the village life, with kids playing around, the only dog chasing the chicken, and the cats trying to find some extra food. The trips offered by Willy are absolutely worth to do, snorkeling is terrific with underwater corals never seen before. The barbecue on the beach is the best you can get, you mind feel like in Cast Away. The village people are so friendly, and the cava-sessions with the singing had been a very special experience. Thank you very much to Willy, Betty, Loloma, and all the wonderful other people who were so friendly, helpful, and made our time on the island unforgettable! To leave that paradise was heart-breaking - we can't wait to come back!May 2018
We had a wonderful time on Yanuca Island with Willy and his family. They looked after us so well, taking us into amazing places: the Blue Hole is superb. We even climbed up the fig tree roots to get to the top of this island. That was adventurous as we are 70 and 72. We loved watching the village life especially the little children playing. Willy's parents, Esau and Elizabeth are inspirational. Their village is a great example of successful community living. The fish is superb! Go there if you want an adventure in the safe hands of Willy.

My friend and I stayed with willy for 6nights.Willy is an excellent host who went above and beyond for us. Being fijian i have to say this is a legitimate Fijian home stay experience. We opted for full catering and we were not dissapointed, food was excellent and plentiful, mostly being sourced from the sea. For activities we came here to fish and Freedive the water is crystal clear with great marine life. There are also hikes available with great views and the friendliest dolphins which live right out front the homestay. I would recommend this to anyone seeking a true fijian cultural experience with a great homestay.
