We are an English family who have been living and working in France for the past 12 years. Our 20 year old daughter is a student in Brest and comes home some weekends. We have two friendly dogs, Milly and Nougat.
John is at home a part of each day. He is a furniture restorer by trade. He has a great sense of humour and loves films and gardening.
Jo is at work from Monday to Friday, she is the head of a local vocational college. She loves the beach, films and cooking.
We both speak French.
Our home is situated on the Le Faou estuary just 20 minutes from Brest. Le Faou is a 'Petite cité de caractère' so identified as being particularly picturesque !
You can walk to the town from our home and you'll find wonderful bakers and great restaurants as well as the post office, banks, the pharmacy and newsagents.
The house has three bedrooms. On the ground floor there is an open plan kitchen, dining and frontroom with a utility room off the kitchen.
On the first floor is our Guest room with ensuite shower-room and WC. Our bedroom is on the same floor with a separate bathroom.
The second floor is also a family bedroom ensuite.
Outside you will find a large garden which backs onto the estuary.

About the Area
Our house is situated on the outskirts of Le Faou, a 15 minute walk from the town. It is 20 minutes from Brest and Châteaulin and 30 minutes from the beach.
There is a regular bus service to Brest. The closest train station is 15 minutes away.
The closest hospital is in Brest where you will also find a vibrant city with shopping, museums, Oceanopolis, a castle, the cinema....

We are a non-smoking household but you can smoke outside in the garden !
We ask that you keep the noise to a minimum after 11pm and that you do not invite other people back to the house.
Please make sure you lock the doors when you go out.
No extra pets allowed!

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
