We are traditional Georgian family of musicians. My parents and I are chanters of the Church of St. Panteleimon the Healer. My 19-year-old brother is a gymnastic. At the same time he studies at Tbilisi Technical University. My sister who is at the age of 24 is currently studying MBA in Paris as an exchange student. As for me, I am 22 and I have just completed my bachelor's degree of economics and have a gap year before my master which I would like to do abroad. Also, music is my second profession as I sing in a choir and play the piano and the violin. All of us in the family sing pretty well. We know lots of Georgian traditional songs and chants which we are happy to share with our guests.

Besides being a chanter, I work as a website and social media administrator of E.Mikeladze Central Music school as well as assist my father in terms of organizing and managing international tours of his Children's and Youth choir where I am a leading singer at the same time.

We would be very happy to host you and share Georgian culture and traditions with you! The whole family is looking forward to meeting you!

Ilia and his family, more particularly his mother, father and brother are incredible people of mighty proportions. Their family is a family of prayers. Prayers are the vitamin of their soul. Music happens when notes are played efficiently and accurately, and life happens when guests are served and looked after efficiently and emphatically. They are great hosts and the best ever I have been away from my home. I must say home is where the heart is and I have no doubt that Ilia's family has a great heart and a passion for serving others. Offering service in church is what they are doing on a day to day basis but what makes them great people is they offer the same passion and enthusiasm to their guests too. On my first day I was received by Ilia's mother and helped me to get my bags in their apartment. On my last day when I was to leave the place I had a sense of sadness, it is due to the things that made a mark on my emotions. In addition, what was an incredible act done by Badri the father of Ilia, on my last day he helped me to get my bags down the premises and then calling a taxi and making sure I have boarded the correct car and guided the taxi driver in Kartuli (their local language) to drive me at my next destination. Ilia's mother gave me the feeling of a great mother and great sister, she served me breakfast every day and always asked me if I needed anything. I love the orange juice on my breakfast and she made sure that it was provided to me not only when she was at home but at times when she left the house due to her work outside, she made sure that juice was kept on the dining table. I really felt that I was at my own house.

Room was specious and clean with two balconies. Good environment with all necessary things to keep me cozy. As I am academia I could study and do my research. I would highly recommend this place and I would definitely want to come back to this place again.

Thank you to my dear sister and brother for being so gracious and a nice host.

I wish them good health and harmony in their rest of life.

    God bless and kind regards

We had a wonderful time with Guranda and Badri, with whom we were able to learn more about Georgian culture. They are a very friendly family and are happy to talk about their country. We spent a memorable evening with them, during which they sang traditional songs; it was a suspended moment that will remain in our memories. We also accompanied them to the church the next day, which was very interesting for us, as Guranda explained a lot. The apartment was also very well located and the room spacious. Guranda also prepared a very good breakfast for us. We would recommend this wonderful homestay to anyone.

Guranda and Badri were so welcoming and lovely. Garunda was so sweet to make me a homemade breakfast every morning and they gave me insider tips on what to do in Tbilisi and Georgia. The room and bathroom are very spacious and clean. So I would definitely recommend to stay here!

I stayed with Illia's family in their homestay for 6 months and I loved it! They made me feel super welcome straight away with a homemade dinner when I arrived from the airport, and ever since then, they did many things to make me feel part of the family.
I was able to eat so much delicious Georgian food, and Guranda even taught me how to make khinkhali (which were amazing!) They also invited me to join with them, having Georgian supras with their friends, and I heard their amazing singing! They made sure that I knew where I was going, and how to get there, and gave me a metro card to use. I felt like I had landed on my feet - I am very glad to have stayed with them.

And when I was sick, Guranda made sure I had the medicine I needed and made sure I had lots of hot tea! I miss staying with them!

This homestay has a clean, comfortable bedroom within a family home in a flat in the Vake area of Tbilisi. The room has a small double bed, desk and chair and access to two balconies, with the bathroom opposite. I received a warm welcome and my hosts were very understanding about my very early arrival and departure in the small hours of the morning, which I really appreciated. I received a freshly-cooked breakfast (porridge and an omelette) plus the option of cheese, ham and bread in the morning. I mainly interacted with the mum of the family, who was very friendly and helpful and lovely to talk to. Vake is around 20 minutes by bus (services are regular and efficient) from Liberty Square. The area is still lively with bars, cafes and shops (there's a bank and supermarkets within easy walking distance of the flat), but I liked being slightly out of the very busy city centre. Vake Park was a particular treat and was respite from the busyness of the centre/tourist areas. You can also access the cable car up to Turtle Lake and the Ethnographic Museum from this part of the city.

    April 2022

Arriving in an unfamiliar city when you don’t speak the local language can be a challenge. Even before I reached Tbilisi, this incredibly kind and happy family welcomed me with open hearts, delicious breakfast (with local tastes and hand-ground coffee), and great ideas for my three-week April 2022 visit to wonderful Georgia. Breakfast kept me energized all day. What is more, they introduced me to polyphonic music and allowed me to join them at a Sunday service, an easy walk away. I won’t forget listening to their beautiful voices at church and at home.

My room and shared bathroom were clean and very roomy. I loved my balcony view of the lights atop Matsminda Park. The neighborhood is residential and safe, close to banks and shops, and good restaurants. Vake Park is a lovely place to walk, just down the block—and the house was a great location for the long, colorful walk down to the Old City. English-speaking daughter was readily available for problem-solving at the bank and travel questions. They kindly arranged for my at-home PCR test, required for re-entry to the USA, right before I left, when the time was tight. The family is linked indelibly to an amazing visit to a wonderful country, and I miss them already.

I had a wonderful time in Georgia with Ilia and his family. They are very kind and will help you with anything that you need. They love Georgia and are happy to share their customs, culture, and typical food with guests. My favorite part was spending time with the family. We did many fun things like eat homemade Khinkali, drink homemade wine, and eat watermelon while watching tv
together. They even sang a traditional Georgian song for me. These are amazing life long memories for me. The house is very clean and I ate a very good breakfast every morning. Tblisi/Georgia is amazing with so many things to do. I hope that I can return one day. I really loved my time in Tblisi with Ilia and his family. I highly recommend that everyone come to Georgia and stay with Ilia

Ilia and his family were very welcoming and helped us a lot to organise our first steps in Georgia. We thus felt reassured from the beginning of our travel, so we ended our trip at their place too. We enjoyed sharing time with them. We learnt alot about Georgia and georgians through interesting conversations. Moreover, the flat is very clean and well situated. Di di madloba !
