Legassi Gardens Apartments is our family home, over 1 acre of trees, flowers and some pretty weeds...in Accra, with fast road links to every part of town. We live on one side of a 'flower wall', with private apartments on the other side, so we can share our 'suburban green space'!
The apartments are completely self-contained with 2 bedrooms, set in the garden compound, with table tennis, an on-site Convenience Store and Vegan Cafe. Pokuase is a busy town, with lots and lots of local shopping, bars and 'hangouts' called 'spots'. Ideal for the adventurous tourist, where you can just jump on a trotro and blend in. We are around 10 minutes from St Johns, Achimota, close to the shopping and bars of Kwabenya, around ACP area, 20 minutes from Accra Mall or the new Weija Mall, by car.
The apartments can accommodate up to four persons, with big discounts for long stay /students /volunteers /single occupants.
The apartments are regularly refurbished (usually after each occupant), tiled throughout, and tastefully furnished, with basic kitchenette, private patio and entrance; they are available for short to long lets. We have international guests from all over Europe, USA and beyond, visiting Ghana for a range of reasons (study, work, romance) all mixing in an Afrohemian atmosphere!
Live-in staff are on-site to provide security and assistance whenever needed.
The rent (negotiable) is inclusive of:
-electricity, water, gas
-cleaning, washing, gardening, security (although 'tipping' is standard)
-full maintenance services
-off street parking
-internet access
-backup generator, which we put on when light is off
-our own bore hole water source with a filtration system, so that water can be pumped straight into your tank to avoid water shortages in your apartment
The apartments are located on a hill just off the Achimota (N6) motorway in a quiet hillside residential area, accessible from either ACP or Pokuase Junction.

About the Area
The area of Pokuase/Kwabenya/Achimota has many activities to keep a visitor busy, with shopping and bars all along the major roads, and even in the quiet residential areas. The full potential of the tourist sites have not yet been developed but include cultural and spiritual sites, and places of natural beauty once you venture out into the rural areas, beyond Amasaman.
Pokuase is also found at a central point in a multi-sided star of roads leading to different parts of central Accra, and other major towns.
From Pokuase you can drive:
-To Kumasi, along the Accra to Kumasi Motorway
-To central Accra, along the same motorway, passing Achimota and Kwame Nkrumah Circle
-To Mallam, along the under construction ECOWAS Highway, and onto Cape Coast
-To Madina, East Legon, Legon University, the Airport and Central Accra taking the Kwabenya road, then turning right. Kwabenya Road will become a continuation of the ECOWAS Highway, once the flyover at ACP Junction has been completed.
-To Aburi, also taking the Kwabenya Road and turning left at Kwabenya
-To Lapaz, then Tetteh Quashie Roundabout and Central Accra

Kindly tip staff for washing and errands, and provide soap for personal washing
Please let us know if you plan to have overnight guests, not just for the extra charge, but for security reasons.
Please turn off appliances when the electricity is cut off, and turn back on when we start the generator..if you are in at the time.
Please do not lose your keys!

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
