The new home of the Mathurs is a place to ruminate, meditate, heal, think, find the soul once again, relook at and prioritise life again…where you can write, paint, call in the Muse in an enviable environment…a place to chill and eat great home-cooked food served with warmth, love and hospitality…a place from where you can go off for treks in the forest or a walk around a beautiful lake and pick up a political discourse at the tea shop…a place that has various Himalayan destinations within short and long distances around…a place that is – dare we say – a home away from home…???
Everyone has dreams. So did we. The amazing part is...the dream came true.
Wooden floors, sloping wooden roof, large windows and a view that money can’t buy --- tree-tops within touching distance all around the house, an oak forest in front, a lake on the right, barking deer and birds flitting around, circled with moss, fern and dry leaf-laden paths.
So here we are –
Pramod – Dad, Boss, Documentary film-maker and CEO, Husband, Householder, Patriarch-on-the make;
Neelima – Mum, also-Boss, Executive Producer, Writer and Trainer, Wife, Home-maker, Matriarch-on-the-make;
Varun - the elder child, a son – the charmer, the artist, chivalrous and nuts about music;
Reeti – the younger one, a girl – tomboy and total feminity all in one, the practical manager with a heart for the down-and-out including pups she finds along her way and equally nuts about music;
– all are watching this dream in a surreal experience before their eyes.
Pramod and Neelima have taken a huge step and relocated from the big metropolis of New Delhi to a village in Uttarakhand – Thapaliya Mehragaon in Naukuchiatal, Block Bhimtal, District Nainital. That doesn’t mean work has stopped.
Video productions of SPOTFILMS in Delhi and other parts of the country; training and advocacy projects of FORMEDIA in India and abroad; international co-productions of STEPS INDIA co-ordinated through the internet. It’s all happening even as a new life begins. Thanks to internet, google chat, skype, youtube, sendspace, youtube, vimeo, teamviewer. This is all about technology and old world charm wrapped in one package. Unbelievable? Check it out…

About the Area
We are only 25 Kms. from railhead station called "Kaathgodam" and it is comfirtable 45 minute drive. We are just 25 Kms., a drive of about 45 minutes, from the famous Hill station of Nainital, established by the British. Everyday shopping place is Bhimtal market that is about 6 kms. from our home. For immediate shopping requirements, one could walk down to a fully stocked grocery shop. Our home is situated within an Oak forest overlooking at Naukuchiatal lake where day tourists come for boating during holidays. Private Taxi service is available and is only a phone call away.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
