An extravaganza of traveling and the local tradition with a return of splendid experience is what has been observed by many visitors here at Shiva’s homestay. His family comprises of wife Radha, son Prabal and daughter Nesang. The homestay provides a very cosy environment in getting along and learning the daily ways of their life. It has been quite a few years that they have been operating the homestay here in Darap Village and sharing the village joy of life with people around the world. The surroundings is being kept very well with lots of flowering plants and gardening, a fish pond and the Cottages of Sikkimese style. The young boy Prabal is very friendly with the guest children as he loves to play along with them around the house and watch cartoons.
Mr. Gurung’s believe in "SEEJOO TARAYGA MANGHANGLOO" meaning that” Guest is God" "Atithi Devo Bhava". We assures you that your stay would be a memorable stay with us.

About the Area
HOW TO REACH DARAP -: Easily accessible by road from every corners of Sikkim and available all types of vehicle from NJP Railway Station/ Bagdura Airport/ Darjeeling/Gangtok/Mangan/ Namche and Siliguri. Duration of time is 03 to 05 hours. We arrange pick up and drop off from Airport / Railway station for your save and comfortable journey.

Hosts can offer a complimentary light breakfast at their discretion. All other meals, including a full breakfast, might incur an additional cost, if offered. Meals and any additional payment should be arranged directly with your host.

House Rules
We are passionate about Village Eco- Tourism. Through travel, we educate our guest on responsible ways of travelling that helps not only in minimizing the carbon footprint but also in maintaining the local eco-system. Some of the travel practices that we urge you to follow are
• Minimize the plastic bags, glass objects and any other non bio –degradable materials
• Carry water bottle that can be re-filled. Avoid purchasing multiple plastic once.
• You are going to stay with a family, so please behave as a courteous guest
• Dress modestly. Be aware of customs, manner and culture of the local people
• Respect local culture by asking before taking photographs
• Always travel with guide
• Vegetation are fragile, follow designated trails
• Avoid littering deposit garbage at designated place
• Follow the time table retain by host.
• Inform to host before leaving & entering outside from homestay
• Don’t disturb wildlife or its habitat
• Don’t buy endangered species or antiques
• Don’t give money to children; it only encourage begging

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
