Lorraine and Stuart have two children Tamzin who is 9 and Callum is 6.
We live in a quiet estate just down from beautiful Portmarnock beach, also beside the village and some shops.
The house is a detached house with 6 bedrooms so there is plenty of room! It has a playroom/TV room. The kitchen and dining room are all open plan so it is nice and airy. We have Tullula a little indoor dog, her breed is Maltese (teacup)
I work in the mornings and Stuart works different shifts, the children go to school, Tamzin and Callum have some after school sports eg: swimming clubs, running, judo.

The house is confortable and you can go on foot to the wonderfull beach of Portmarnock and Malahide. And if you want to go to Dublin you can get bus and train in Portmarnock.

Our experience was a mixed one - in stark contrast to our other experiences of homestay or similar accommodation. The location was very pleasant with Malahide & Howth close, which were such lovely places to enjoy. Stewart was also very helpful in answering our many questions and also in his recommendations on places to visit. Our son had some great time playing with their son, Calem, which was very significant for us. And we all enjoyed the company of the delightful family dog. What left us very disappointed was inaccuracies in the listing & a failure by the host to update it. The most concerning was to be informed that we couldnt self-cater, even when we pointed out that it was in the listing. We were allowed to use the microwave, a compromise we could live with under the circumstance, but buying precooked microwaveable meals is significantly more expensive than cooking properly with full access to the kitchen. Homestay guests RELY on the listed facilities/filters and they form an informal contract. The listed TVs in the guest rooms did not work and the WiFi was weak in those rooms too - tho we were given exclusive access to a TV in the kitchen/living area. And the lounge/sofas in the living area that we were allowed to use were very comfortable. Overall, a rather mixed bag...

Lorraine and her husband Stuarts are two people very friendly and welcomed us very well. The house is located in a nice area, served by buses. It's big, 6 bedrooms, a nice kitchen with one table but with only two bathrooms, therefore not suitable to accommodate 15 people all together. Unfortunately, the attention to cleanliness leaves to be desired (very dirty kitchen grease) and the presence of a small, cute little dog with the habit doing its own needs on the kitchen carpet highlights the lack of attention to hygiene.

Tout c'est très bien passé.
Je recommande vivement Lorraine, qui est quelqu'un d'accueillant, gentille et très agréable à vivre au quotidien.
Encore merci à elle et à sa familleAugust 2014
Very quiet area beside the sea. Very good breakfast. 15 min walk to the Tart or train station. 20 min to Dublin city centre by train. Hospitable, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay with Lorraine!
