We are a young family of four (a two year old toddler and a baby). We live in a fantastic location in Highfield Park. This is within walking distance to everything! The famous Salthill Promenade is only a 10 minute walk. The lively Galway City Centre is also just about 15 minutes walk. Galway University is only about 10 minutes walk. Galway is a thriving town and fantastic place to come on a student exchange! Highfield is a very popular location for students of the University due to it's close proximity to it.
James' family own a traditional Irish bar right in the heart of Salthill. My parents own a guesthouse in the same vicinity so we are very accustomed to meeting new people from a young age. We are both very sociable and outgoing and have a lot of experience hosting students. We have had long-term students from Germany, the USA, Korea and Holland and short-term students from Spain.
We just recently had a lovely student from Madrid for six weeks and currently, have a Swiss girl.

You will be in the City Centre in a few minutes! Galway is a thriving town and fantastic place to come on a student exchange! During the time we were doing an internship in Galway (3 months) Regina ad James were friendly people and we got along quite well but the house was not suitable at all for guests. Bathroom and kitchen were not clean, the heating was often switched off and it was a big issue, as we lived in the house in a very cold period (the times we tried to switch it on it was immediately switched off again). During the weekends the alarm was regularly around 7/8 am because the kids shouted in the early morning, making the rest of the weekend days impossible. Probably a good place for very short stayings but we lived there as workers for 90 days and it wasn't satisfying at all, given the fact that we paid 600 euros each per month and we had expected to find a quiet and clean place.

Regina and James are very kindly and friendly. Its a pleasure to talk with them. They help you if you have a problem. The house is quite close to city center and NUI Galway. You can walk to the great Prom within 20 min. The room is quite large and you have a calm environment. But it was not so clean as we expected from Germany. Nevertheless, the accomodation was a good start for our stay in Galway.

Regina and Jemes by far the best family in Galway. They both are very easy going and lovely couple. My room is comfortable and quite big. They are really understaning and very helpful. I was sick because of the weather; Jemes took me to see the doctor and took a really good care of me when I was sick. The kitchen is big and contain everything you would need to cook, wash your clothes or to heat your food. There is a nice living room if you like to sit next to the fire or watch tv.
Regina is a gorgeous lady who always listen to my stories and ask me about my day. Moreover, they have 2 adorable kids.
If you are looking to stay in Galway I highly recommend to stay with them. I promise you won't regret it.October 2013
I spent 4 wonderful weeks with Regina and James, they are very kindly, very friendly and they have two lovley kids. The location is quite and not far from the city center. The room is clean and so big. I want to say thanks beacause they made me feel like my home. I really made feel lke part of the family. I love you :) Thanks for all.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
