The guest room is traditional tatami with futon beds.
My wife, Yuki, is a yoga teacher. If you would like a yoga lesson in the large downstairs tatami room, this can be arranged for a very reasonable price.

Wonderful couple , extremely helpful and caring. Lovely surroundings. Perfect place to spend a few leisurely days.
March 2024
Keith and Yuki were very welcoming of us into their beautiful home and allowed us to use all amenities. Their home was a great glimpse into an authentic Japanese house, with the location being 10/10 if you like suburban areas, with good links to the centre of Tokyo.

Loved my week long stay here in March!
Keith & Yuki are very nice and laidback couple.
I felt welcome and my stay was very relaxing in the country side of Tokyo.
Breakfast was plenty and they laid out some recommendations on what to do in the
I found the architecture museum and botanical garden to be quite impressive.
They also offered a bicycle which was a fun way of exploring the local rivers and parks.
Not far from here is also a good hiking are at Mt. Takao.
On one of their off days, I even joined them for a day hike and listened to their stories.
And upon my request Yuki also prepared me a traditional japanese breakfast once. The tatami room on the upper floor is very simple and spatious.
On a good day, opening the sliding doors will let in a lot of sunshine too.Note that If you want to do some laptop work, the small desk in the tatami room might not be sufficient when sitting for a long time. The Kotatsu table in the living room might be better for that, however this is room is also used for Yuki's Yoga lessons.
Typical japanese houses do not have central heating, they use room heaters instead.
So bring some comfy house shoes to keep your feet warm.I Recommend this place, especially if you want to experience simple japanese life and escape the buzzling city. Cheers!

Great communication, it felt like we stayed at our friends' place. Definitely recommend! Too bad I didn't have time to do Yuki's yoga. Maybe next time!

Wonderful hosts: helpful, nice, and knowledgable. I know I'd be lucky to find another such stay in Japan!

The room was traditional Japanese and we also received a traditional Japanese breakfast on request which was delightful. Both Keith and Yuki were helpful and also gave us suggestions on where to go in Tokyo. The house was not located in the city center but it was in a very nice and quiet neighbourhood. It was easy to get there from Tokyo central station with public transportation. We very much enjoyed our stay at Keith and Yukis home!

Keith and Yuki are wonderful hosts. Very helpful in any way. If you're coming to Tokyo for hanami (sakura viewing), Keith and Yuki's place is the place to stay at. There are many parks nearby, Nogawa river with sakura trees 2 mins from their house, botanical garden and a street with many sakura trees on both sides. If you want to taste local food, there are also cafes and restaurants nearby (e.g. a lunchbox shop with a view on the Nogawa river and a soba restaurant 5 mins from the house).
