I had a wonderful month of May in Hayamiya at Kyoko's house. Kyoko is extremely kind and helpful person with a great sense of humor. She is genuinely interested in offering foreigners a glimpse into Japanese lifestyle. Kyoko is also a great cook, and I am a great eater, but even for my stomach the amount of food was simply too much, and by the end of the month we decided to cut down my portions...
Kyoko's house is located in a very calm suburban setting, which offers beautiful things to see, such as various temples. Within a walking distance one can find Hayashi Fitness Centre, which accepted my membership for one month only. The Centre has got a pool (25 m), a gym, various group classes, sauna and baths. I went there to swim and to have sauna and baths nearly every day, which was perfect as the temperature in May reached +30 degrees Celsius on several days. The house is also located within a short walk to the subway station, connecting it to central Tokyo with Fukutoshin and Yurakucho -lines.
All in all, I do not think that I could have found a better place for my stay!June 2024

Kyoko was a great host. She offered daily breakfast and other snacks and meals on occasion, took care of laundry and maintained the house beautifully. She was easy to reach whenever you needed something. The house is lovely and the neighbourhood was nice and clean as well, quiet and residential with a good amount of greenery. If you’re alright with a bit of a commute into the city centre and a more residential and quiet pace for your stay, I would highly recommend. I personally went into the city every day during my stay and found the commute doable but YMMV!

I was here for one week and it has been an amazing experience. The house is new, very big and comfortable. It's located in a quiet residential zone, but few minutes away in train from the city center. In the area there are kombinis, restaurants, supermarkets, parks... The host is very kind, polite, respectful... a wonderful person. She is always trying to make you feel like at home. Looking forward to come back if I have the opportunity!

Kyoko is a wonderful person and host.
Her cooking is very delicious, the breakfast and dinner are plenty and she will go out of her way to make dishes you like. The house was a little hard to find first, but the stay there made more then up for it. I enjoyed oir conversations and the time there very much!February 2024
The host cancelled the booking 6 days before the arrival date.

Comfortable and suburban. If you are looking for a slower paced side of Tokyo, Kyoko-san's home could be a great option. Great home-cooked food, laundry done for you, and a quiet, clean space. I enjoyed taking long strolls in the neighborhood and experiencing the slower everyday life away from the hustle and bustle. Kyoko-san will help you with literally anything, so don't be afraid to ask! During my 1 month stay, multiple of the other homestayers were repeat visitors, who all spoke fondly of their visits and return visits to Kyoko-san's homestay. I am already missing my time and hope to be back soon! 色々ありがとうございます!

My stay helped immerse me in Japanese culture and provide a good introduction to it and the country. Also a good place to practise the language and nicely situated with easy access to Shinjuku and Shibuya
