Toshiko and Tomoji were kind and welcoming, and very helpful with advice and ideas during our stay. Their home is lovely and restful, in a quiet neighborhood. She is a wonderful cook, and generously shared recipes with me. We really felt like we made new friends that we will definitely visit again someday.

I had a terrific time here. It felt like a home away from home. My Japanese isn't so good, but we were still able to talk about many different topics. The meals were tasty and varied. Gave me the energy I needed when heading out each day. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Good location, if you're looking for somewhere peaceful that's still fairly close to a variety of stores and restaurants, on foot or by train. Recommended.

Toshiko-san is a wonderful host.
I stayed with Toshiko-san for a month while doing language school. She was so kind and caring, I felt right at home. From helping with laundry to delicious meals, she was supportive in every way. I had dinner with Toshiko-san and her husband many nights, and it was a great opportunity to practice my Japanese. I am so fortunate to have stayed in her home and I hope to come back in the future.
ありがとうございました :)

I absolutely loved my stay with Toshiko, it was honestly the best experience I had during my time in Japan. She was so sweet and helpful and the food every day was asbolutely delicious too. I couldn't have asked for a better host family. I had no set plans to see specific things, but she always recommended good places to go see, even more specific ones if you tell her the area you plan to go to that day. She’s very loving and helpful in every way. I miss staying with them already, and I hope to be back again this year!

My stay was absolutely amazing! お母さんとお父さん were so kind and welcoming. As a student learning Japanese and loves cooking, I loved having the opportunity to practice conversation and cook with my homestay parents! I will definitely be returning to stay for longer than a week!!!

It is my second time staying with Toshiko-san's family, because I loved my experience there so much! It feels like a homecoming. My heart is filled with joy and gratitude for the warmth, hospitality, generosity and care of her family. Everything in the room and the house is comfortable. The room feels so cozy, and Toshiko-san is so thoughtful in choosing a cute bedsheet with anime themes I love! Her family also shared with me so much about their culture and answered all of my curious questions. And the food is phenomenal! Thank you so much for having me, see you again!

Horikawa family was trully wonderful, everyone was so friendly and accomodating, even if you can't speak Japanese they will try your best to speak English and explained things for you. They don't have many rules, very relaxed and flexible, just use your common sense and show some courtesy and you will have a blast there. If you speak Japanese, you'll get to talk and learn new things from them too. The place was clean, quiet and cozy, nothing to fault. Train ride is about 1hr to Tokyo, so as long as you plan your trip accordingly, it will not be a problem, in fact you will get to embrace and feel more authentic Japanese experience where the shops don't have English menu or writings and the staff don't speak English too, embrace it.

Toshiko and Tomoji were the finest hosts you can imagine! Wonderful home - clean, cozy and comfortable. Toshiko helped us very much going back and forth to the train station, and giving us great suggestions on tourist activities in the Tokyo area. Saitama is not in downtown Tokyo but the train ride is fast and convenient to get anywhere. We were welcomed as part of the family and look forward to staying with Toshiko again and learning more about Japanese culture. Arigato!

Toshiko-san and Tomoji-san were literally the most considerate hosts ever. I speak decent Japanese so I spoke often with them, talking about all kinds of things and really got to know them. They made me meals whenever I was home and one of my favorite routines was when I caught up with them during breakfast in the morning. Despite my weird waking hours, they did their best to accommodate me, and they went above and beyond for everything. Whenever Toshiko-san had freetime, we would go hang out together whether it was tagging along for chores, shopping, or meals. They are honestly like family to me now and I am looking forward to seeing them again whenever I come back to Japan. Highly recommend!
