Namaste and welcome to our family! Our home is located in a quiet area in the heart of Kathmandu. 11 km from the Airpot and 4 km from the touristic area Thamel, a place known as Raniban. It is a beautiful area having many facilities. The local bus is also available here. Since our home is located near the forest. We would love to take you hiking if we have time. We don't compare our house with luxurious hotels but we assure you to provide quality time together. We admire sharing culture, tradition, and cuisine with each other. I can teach you cooking as I have a very deep hobby of cooking. As well as I can learn from you. Our family is often referred to as a musical family by many guests so we have many musical instruments and if you are interested as also a music lover as us, we can have a small concert together and it will be more fun if you play any musical instruments as girls love learning from you. We appreciate it if you are keen to spend time together learning and teaching new things, talking about life, adventure, experiences and many more.

As we say in Nepal, a guest is a gift from God, so we are happy to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Relatives and extended families live around, making the area safe, welcoming and giving you a high chance of cultural immersion and getting to know the Nepalese family life.

In an otherwise polluted city, our place is characterized by greenery with many trees, a flower garden and a vegetable garden which we use for fresh local supply. Since food is a big part of our culture, I will prepare a variety of dishes from the rich Nepali cuisine. As well as, I cook Italian, Indian, and some dishes from many countries that I learned myself and from our guests.

Talking about us, we are a family of four me (Shashi), my loving husband (Raj), and two bright daughters (Rhitika 15 and Smarika 12). Raj and I were from two different remote villages. In search of a career and higher studies, we came to Kathmandu. We have seen many obstacles in life though we have successfully handled it and it is only possible due to our love and support. Raj first started his career as a trekking porter full of hardships than gradually, he upgraded himself as a helper, assistant guide, junior guide and then finally authorized guide after giving exams from Nepal Government. He then became a guide/ tour leader in Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet and India. Similarly, our marriage was a fully arranged marriage arranged by our relatives. After our hard work of a decade, we successfully became able to settle a trekking office of our own. Likewise, we had two daughters who completed our family. We all were a happy family till then the bad news came striking in our lives. I had been suffered from cancer. It was a devastating moment in our family. Many of our international friends, national friends and relatives supported us. I performed my surgery on September 10, 2017. I have gradually been better but still, have health fluctuations. After all, we are very lucky to have such a loving and supporting family.
