My home is private at the end of a lane in a very quiet neighbourhood close to all amenities and the city and looks out onto a large garden with a stream boundary and is surrounded by shrubs, trees and bird life. The house is a warm modern executive home, with own guest bathroom and wifi. It is a short walk to the supermarket, Drive times to:
Airport 20 minutes City Centre 15 minutes Hagley Park 12 minutes Akaroa 1 hour and hand to southern highway to Queenstown. Close to cafes/bar, and buses to city, airport and university. Walking and mountain bike tracks are close by
The guest room available has a very comfortable double bed. It has a lovely view of the garden and is north facing enabling it to have all the afternoon sun. There is a separate bathroom and toilet for guests' use. Meals can be provided by prior arrangement
I work in education and have been hosting international visitors for many years and enjoy sharing my home with them. I enjoy meeting people and hearing about their travels and lives. I can help you with your itinerary and travel arrangements if required. My hobbies include gardening, cooking, reading, cycling, horse riding, movies, music, paddle boarding and travel. I share my home with Henry, my tabby cat

Airport 20 minutes City Centre 15 minutes AMI Stadium and Tranzalpine 10 minutes Hagley Park 12 minutes Akaroa 1 hour, close to main highway south to Queenstown. It is a short walk to supermarket, cafes/bar, and buses to city, airport and university. Walking and mountain bike tracks are close by and we have our new world class mountain bike adventure park which has just opened on the Port Hills, only 5 minutes by car from my house

Jill was a wonderful host. Our stay with her was very comfortable. She was very helpful in suggesting where to explore and giving directions! We thoroughly enjoyed our chats and can highly recommend a stay with her.

We enjoyed our stay at Jill's comfortable, spotless home. She is a lovely host, helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the local area and it's history. Halswell is a quiet and pleasant area on the outskirts of Christchurch and ideal if you want to travel around and see the city and its surroundings. Christchurch, Sumner and Lyttelton all within easy reach by car.

Jill house is immaculate and very clean. Every things are clean and tidy. Superb healthy breakfast provided and soft comfortable beds. Jill provides excellent travel tips and information. I would surely return to stay here whenever i am in Christchurch.

Jill was very welcoming and extremely informative. A very friendly lady, came away after one night feeling that we had known her for much longer. Would be pleased to welcome her to our home. Wished we could have stayed longer. A real home from home.

Rooms where very neat and clean lovely garden to relax in when you had a long day visiting Christchurch. I travel a lot and must say this stay was one of the best places I stayed at. Thanks for such a great time and your lovely hospitality. 10/10

How do I book?

When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
