The apartment of Carlos and Elizabeth was my home from 16 to 26 November 2018.
It is a great home for guests who want to visit Cusco. It is a very reliable address. The apartment is very efficient and homely decorated. A comfortable bed ensures an excellent night's sleep.
A spacious closet for storing your clothes and/or personal items. The room is equipped with a TV.
You use an adjacent personal bathroom. When you need a taxi, Elizabeth or Carlos arrange it with pleasure. The most time I spent in the apartment was together with Carlos and Elizabeth, where we had great conversations about everything and everything. Start the morning with a delicious breakfast with bread, cereals, fruit, coffee and biscuits, carefully set out on the dining table, along with a thoughtful note from Elizabeth or Carlos (who usually left home early for work in a hospital). The first two days (I did not have any plans yet) I went on a trip to Cusco at the request of Elizabeth (guide) with students from a secondary school. We also visited the famous places such as (Museo de Sitio Qorikancha, Saqsaywaman, Qénqo, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay) in the vicinity of Cusco that show the history. A great experience, the students had never met a person from the Netherlands, and then also together in Peru. Then I did the 4-day Inca Trail with 6 Americans, a Brazilian and 3 people from Australia. After four strenuous days, I am warmly welcomed late in the evening and there is food ready, great people Elizabeth and Carlos. Together with Carlos, we were able to arrange appointments via the mail at the university in Cusco i.v. my volunteer work /work. I felt more than welcome to this family.
To summarize, a warm welcome in the house of Carlos and Elizabeth * was an important reason * for my unforgettable bliss and trip to Peru. When I visit Cusco again, I already know that I will stay with this great couple.
The evening before my departure we went out to eat together, and of course traditional food. A nice evening together with a good glass of wine. Thank you very much Elizabeth and Carlos.Met vriendelijke groet / Mit freundlichen Grüßen/ Kind regards,

Carlos & Elizabeth were amazing. I don’t normally write reviews, but they exceeded any expectations. The home was wonderful, in a great location with easy access to the bus. They provided breakfast, storage, information, etc. Any questions we had they were happy to answer and would text back on WhatsApp very quickly. I am so pleased with my experience and would come back in a heartbeat!

Carlos and Elizabeth's beautiful apartment was my home during the last few days of 2018. It is perfectly suited for travelers who want to explore Cusco (5 soles will get you a taxi-ride to the City Center Plaza, Mercado San Pedro etc) or those who want a reliable base from which to begin hikes to iconic places like Salkantay and Machu Picchu.
The room is very cozy and efficiently furnished, with a view of the distant mountains. A comfortable queen bed will get you an excellent night's sleep after a long day of exploring Cuzqueña architecture and cuisine. There is ample place for you to keep clothes and copies of important travel documents (in case you misplace them during your outings). The room also comes with a television set to help you improve your Spanish grammar via telenovella! An adjacent personal bathroom means that you never have to postpone a hot-water bath.
Most of all, however, the best part of staying in this apartment is meeting the owners themselves! Both Carlos and Elizabeth went out of their way to make my stay as convenient as humanly possible. Carlos picked me up at the airport and, at my request, agreed to speak to me in Spanish in order to increase my confidence with the language.
Every morning would begin with a lovely breakfast of bread, cereal, fruit, coffee and biscuits, meticulously set out on the dining table along with a thoughtful note from Carlos (who usually left home early for work at a nearby hospital).
During the day they were always available via phone in case I needed any help. One time, for example, the taxi driver I was with ended up in the incorrect part of the city. I rang up Carlos and he promptly directed the driver to the correct address.
At home, after a long day, we would often speak about Peruvian history and politics. Carlos also made several recommendation for good Peruvian movies, which for a cinephile like me, was worth its weight in gold.
In summary, being warmly invited into Carlos and Elizabeth's home was *a vital reason* for my trip to Peru being unforgettable. When I visit Peru again, I already know that I will be staying with this amazing couple.
Gracias Carlos and Elizabeth! Fue un placer absoluto! Hasta Luego!
