I live with my husband and 3 sons, aged 20, 23 and 28, and 2 watch dogs, Cobra and Mek. We just love hosting people. We love the intercultural exchange. We speak English, Xhosa and other South African languages. My husband speaks some French too.
One of our sons is a poet, so we do attend attend some poetry gigs, we are art lovers, we love music, board games and reading. The main house has a huge patio and braai (BBQ) area. Our long stayers get invited to these braai's. We also enjoy going out as there are a lot of restaurants and night life entertainment going on within a 2 km distance.
The place now used for homestay is a 2 bedroom apartment, self catering apartment, all tiled, clean, private and secure, with its own bathroom, kitchen, lounge and balcony, you do not have to interact with the family at all if you do not want to. It can stay up to 4 people if you are a group.
We will show you around or help you with all necessary information during your stay here and the place is serviced every 4th day. You can make a request for daily service at an extra cost. We will provide, Tea, Coffee, Sugar and Rusks. We will make your stay very pleasant and comfortable.

About the Area
Our house is located Pretoria East, less than 2km from the Menlyn Centre and Menlyn Maine, which has international restaurants, a Casino, second biggest in South Africa and night club life.. Local restaurants are 1.2km away. It is situated in a leafy, upmarket and safe suburb. It is less than 8km from the University of Pretoria and Hatfield Gautrain station, less than 10Km from the CBD and UNISA. It is in a Uber/Taxify friendly zone. The bus and public taxi stop is less than 700m away.

You are welcome to bring friends over but we request at least lower levels of noise after 11pm.

I've had a great time with the Vili family. Thabisa, Njongo and their sons showed me around in Pretoria, even took me to Soweto and helped me out whenever they could. If you are staying in or around Pretoria, I would definitely recommend staying with the Vili Family.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
