Neil's place offers rustic cabins in a tranquil setting, about 30 minutes by tuk-tuk outside Kandy. Good organic vegetarian food is served by Latha, much of it, coming from their own garden. Neil lived for many years in Finland, so he is very familiar with Westerners and western ways. His authentic wood-fired sauna is the best I have ever experienced. Neil befriended me and personally helped me make the contacts I needed at the University. Neil's retreat is best for those who seek quietness and peace in a natural environment. Wake up to bird song surrounded by garden full of flowers! Highly recommended.

We booked a bungalow got Neils bedroom in the house. Full of pictures and personal stuff of the owner. People walked in the whole day there was no privacy at all. Not so clean. Owner was rude and impolite! The woman Latha was nice and caring. Dinner was good but not so special for 1000 rupees. Can not recommend this place, only when you get the bungalow or cottage it is ok!

Paradise cottage is an awesome place to just relax and enjoy nature. There is a beautiful garden, a sauna every other day, great food (lots of veggies and fruits from the garden). You can walk to town or take a tuktuk, and there are nice temples in walking distance too. Definitely a place to come back to!

This is a great place to stay if you are looking for a peaceful place to relax in nature. The garden is quite large and is a good place for meditation. Even if it is not that close to Kandy City it is easy to get there by train. The host is very welcoming and will look after your every need, she also took great care of me while I was unable to move with a sprained foot!
