Rooms to rent in quiet residential area of Greysteel, located between Derry (10 mins drive) and Limavady (10 mins drive). Bus Stop is 3 mins walk - if you run like crazy - ok, I'm kidding, it's about 7-8 minutes walk away. Easy access to Donegal or North Coast.
Spacious Double Room with bedside locker, chest of drawers, clothes rail and desk. Located at back of the house facing onto trees which are full of life - Dawn Chorus every day, all day! Room ideal for couple (who like each other) or individual who likes his or her own space (and doesn't fancy being part of a couple). :-)
Box room with bunk beds, bedside locker, clothes rail and tall mirrored single wardrobe. Ideal for kids (who come with the couple and not by themselves of course) or for travellers looking for a short stay.
Bathroom immediately adjacent to double room with bath, shower and wash hand basin and at end of hall from Box room. Bathroom is set aside for use of guests.
My kids have all grown up and flown the nest, hence room for guests, but they're not far away and along with my grandson they come up to visit. As for me, I am relaxed, easy-going, flexible and open to hosting or welcoming someone into my home.

About the Area
Greysteel is a quiet residential area located between Derry and Limavady. It faces onto Lough Foyle and looks across into Donegal. It's a couple of minutes drive from the picturesque plantation village of Eglinton, and a few minutes from Ballykelly Forest. It's about half an hour's drive from the nearest beaches (over the border) in Donegal or at Magilligan. It's about an hour's drive from the Giant's Causeway. There is also a horse riding school/stables nearby. The area is easily accessible to all main arterial routes and is just over an hour's drive from Belfast.

House Rules
No smoking, drugs or alcohol on-site - this is not a judgement on you as a person but it just avoids potential mishaps.
Kitchen is accessible to heat food up or prepare light meals or snacks but not for preparing a Gordon Ramsey style dining experience!
No surprise guests that arrive back with you that you met on an evening out playing bingo!
A place for everything and everything in its place!
Wifi is available but for checking mails, scrolling and lighter use - not for downloading box sets of your latest fave TV series or film trilogies your cousin recommended!
Assume nothing, always ask, I'm happy to answer, might even surprise you with a yes, but sometimes I have to say no. :-)
I haven't mastered telepathy yet so if you don't say or ask I can't help, so don't wait to the review page until you tell me a bulb needed changing ;-)
Last but not least, it's a house you're staying in but it is my home and will still be my home after you leave so please treat it as you might see or expect that I would.
Smoking Rules
Your host is a non-smoker.
Smoking is not allowed.

Fergal is impossibly knowledgeable about all things Northern Ireland and is a wonderful host. His home is a bit of a hike from Derry ( a 45 minute bus ride) but the bus ride is beautiful, especially if you're able to get the front seat on the top level of the bus. I highly recommend a stay with him.

Fergal was easy to communicate with prior to our stay, and gave us relevant information. On meeting him, he was friendly, and informative, and went out of his way to assist in planning the stay there, with places to visit, and routes to take. I would definitely recommend him, for either a short stay, or a longer stay , from which to explore the north west of Ireland.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
