We have a friendly family home in a quiet leafy suburb of Reading. It is on a frequent bus route to Reading Station. The house is pet friendly with Nandi the boxer and chickens for daily fresh eggs.
The residents include Richard and Catherine who have grown up boys Jean-Claude and Jean-Pierre who sometimes live in the house between their travels and their work.
English is spoken but we are a multi lingual family and can converse in French Spanish Afrikaans and German as well.
As a family we enjoy the outdoors walking cycling and travelling.
The house is traditional English semi detached with lounge , dining room, 4 bedrooms and a bathroom on each level. The garden is great to lounge in on sunny days.
We are non smokers and would expect smokers can smoke only outside the house.

Reading Festival Guests - I provide transport to and from Festival. Yes I even pick you at midnight so you can save your energy for dancing . You can arrive in the morning and drop your luggage . In addition breakfast served on both days is 'a real English' .

About the Area
Our house is located on the north side of the city in a quiet and safe suburb. We are 3 km from the city centre and 45 minutes drive from Heathrow airport using the Air link bus which run all day every 20 minutes.
The bus stop is only 2 minutes walk from the house and there a regular buses to the station and the town throughout the day.

Catherine and Richard are so welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was bright and clean and the bed was very comfortable. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend.

A friend and I stayed here to go to Reading festival and Catherine and family (including the dogs!) were so lovely and welcoming from the second we got there and made us feel right at home. Location is perfect as it's close to pretty much everything but Catherine dropping us off and picking us up before/after the festival was amazing; made everything so much easier, cheaper and stress-free. The house itself is homely, clean and spacious and made for a very comfortable stay.
We could not have asked for a better experience and I will definitely look to stay again if I'm going to be in Reading in the future. Would recommend to anyone, especially festival-goers and/or young people looking for a trustworthy and genuinely nice place to stay.

Staying with Catherine was fantastic. A really great host who made us all very welcome. The rooms were perfect and a lovely garden to sit and enjoy. Thank you so much for helping to make our trip to Reading so wonderful.

I stayed in Mrs. Catherine's house for one week and I really enjoyed myself there. Mrs. Catherine and her family are so kind, friendly, caring and helpful. I felt so comfortable while staying with them. Their house is located in a quiet and peaceful area but it is not far from the town center (about 3 km). It only takes me 2 minutes to walk to the nearest bus stop. I love their dog, Nandi and still keep her photos. My overall experience is amazing. I would like to say thank you to Mrs. Catherine's family. If I come back to Reading in the future, I will definitely ask Mrs. Catherine if she can host me.

Catherine e Richard sono deliziosi. Siamo stati tre giorni per il festival di Reading e loro ci hanno accompagnato e ci sono venuti a prendere all'uscita, inoltre le loro typical english breakfast sono eccezionali: bacon, uova, toast, fagioli e una fantastica banana bread!!!!
Se avete in programma il festival di Reading vi consigliamo di alloggiare qua, da Catherine and Richard. Inoltre se volete passare qualche giorno a Londra avere come base Reading e fare anche un po' di conversazione questo posto è l'ideale. Reading e Londra sono collegate benissimo.

How do I book?

When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
