We live in a lovely victorian house at the centre of a picturesque village in west Devon. We are close to Dartmoor and Exmoor and are a short drive away from the North Devon coastline and less than an hour from Cornwall.There is a large but cosy drawing room with an open fire, a huge kitchen with dining area that opens onto a flower filled verandah, a courtyard garden leads to another garden which is our pride and joy.A gothic arbour overlooks the fish pond, a lovely peaceful spot to enjoy morning coffee.
You would enjoy the entire top floor of the house to yourself and this includes the double bedroom,large landing and separate study/ television room.You would also have on hand your own fridge and tea and coffee making facilities.The views across to Dartmoor are breathtaking! There is also a shower room on the floor below for your exclusive use,and the use of the family bathroom also.
I'm a good cook and am happy to provide evening meals should the need arise.My partner drives into Exeter every morning for work so if you need a lift into town or need to be picked up from the station this would be no problem.
We are a peaceful yet hospitable couple who are pleased to share our spacious home.

About the Area
Our house is located in the centre of the historic village of Winkleigh providing shops a cafe and pubs on your doorstep.A short walk to the bus stop will take you to Exeter or Bideford/ Barnstaple.A daily lift into Exeter is also available.We are at the centre of an area recently made famous by Mr Morpurgo's War Horse, the village of Iddesleigh and the small market town of Hatherleigh.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
