We are a family of 4 (3 generations) looking to experience different cultures. My mom can’t hear that good these days; although we are considerate, we can talk loud sometimes so that she can hear us. I am 10 minutes from the Lincoln tunnel and 5 minutes from the train station.
Ample of public transportations to get all over the state and to different states (including NYC). Our town is a suburb with a city close by; as a matter of fact you can see the New York Skyline from outside our front door. We have a newly renovated outdoor patio where you can read, work, or relax. Laundry is offered (must bring own detergent).
We have 3 dogs, 2 cats & 1 caged bird. Our house is clean, we are welcoming and enjoy visitors.

My home is located a block away from the NJ transit Bus into NYC or 2/3 mile away by train Secaucus Junction. You can walk around in the town there is shopping available we have markets, pharmacies, restaurants (sit-down and quick service), and parks. American Dream Mall is a 5 minute drive from host home.

Please lock all doors, make sure you return home at a reasonable time and always communicate feeling and thoughts. use the kitchen but clean up after yourself, have manners and good hygien. Ask permission to invite guests over. Respect our home as if it were your own.

You are very close to the bus which takes you into the City. The room is very loud, as the grandmother is hard of hearing and watches TV all day and into the night. Be careful where you walk, Lulu the dog has accidents and I walked into a puddle of urine once. Also the cat likes to defecate outside the litter box because nobody cleans it. Otherwise, the bathroom is nice.

It was such a great trip!! She and her family were so nice to me. I really enjoyed staying at Theas home! And it was the best decision for me, because I was travelling alone and this way I learned so much about the culture and american traditions and Thea always gave me advice, that was very helpful. I would really like to stay here the next time when I'm visiting New York :)

For transportation . The first day I was a little bit afraid because that was my first time in New York but Thea and her family made me feel like home . The house is very nice ,cosy and in a perfect area .When I booked the room I didn’t expect all this and also I didn’t expect to find a good friend ( Thea’s daughter) ...so I think that Thea is a wonderful host and this family is the best choice for everyone .( I miss my second family ...Thea’s family ❤️)Host reply

Das Zimmer war wirklich schön und groß und wenn man sich in dem Haus nicht lange aufhält passt es aber wenn man dann doch wegen regen oder irgendwas zuhause bleibt darf man sich den ganzen Tag das Geschrei der Familie anhören das war wirklich nicht schön!

Thea was a wonderful host and her family was so welcoming and understanding especially when we had a lot of transport delays. Thea is kind,energetic and perfect host. She helped us with things that we couldn’t figure out, or have struggle with(like transportation...)We stayed with her 40 days that I can say excellent. We will definitely stay with her in the future. House condition and location(including transport to New York) was good too. Thanks for everything We had great time.

Her home is clean and comfortable! Her family is very nice. They offer helpful tips and definitely watch out for you. It's close enough to New York that you can commute everyday (which was what I did) with pretty much zero stress. It's a $3.50 ride to Time Square. Would definitely recommend.
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
