Hello my friends, my apartment is small but well maintained. It is very cozy and clean. It is fully equipped with dishes, pots and pans, blender, coffee maker, toaster, large stove / oven and refrigerator. All linens, bath towels, body soap, shampoo and conditioner are included. The common area and bathroom is shared with the host only
The printer is accessible over WiFi with most devices for guests needing to conduct business
I offer TV with local channels and your room is equipped with Netflix, HULU, and free high-speed WiFi. There is no mess or clutter because we like to keep things simple. I'm an empty-nester as my only son graduated from NJIT university, found his own flat and started a new career at Tesla.

I am a 55 year old man who is very friendly, sociable and happy to host. As a former Airbnb manager I have gained lots of experience hosting (Se habla Español). It really is a home away from home and you will always be treated as family.
With plenty of local transportation just 1.5 blocks away you can travel to New York City Port Authority Bus & Subway Terminal (also known as Times Square & 42St). From there the sky is the limit as to where you can go in NYC..... 42nd Street (Times Square), Empire State Building, One World Observatory, Intrepid Air & Space Museum, Central Park, Stature Of Liberty, 9/11 Memorial & Museum, Rockefeller Center, MOMA.... the list is endless! All points in Lower, Mid & Upper Manhattan
On a nice day you can walk 25 minutes to the Port Imperial Ferry (Weehawken, NJ) which will take you to Wall Street/Pier 11 and so much more. Please visit nywaterway.com for fares, routes and schedules.
Please note that currently the NYC Metro Card for subway/busses are not accepted on NJ Transit busses. NJ Transit passes (Flex Pass = multiple bus rides) may be purchased at Port Authority for use on any NJ Transit bus. These passes are offered at 20% discount versus paying cash on bus. Once here, I recommend the NJ & MTA Transit Apps which gives you up-to-the-minute New Jersey/New York Transit scheduling/tracking information to/from and within NYC/NJ
Once you board the bus for NYC it usually takes about 20 -25 minutes from home, depending on traffic, to reach Port Authority NY. In NYC there are a variety of transportation options to take you to the 5 boroughs of Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan and Staten Island.
If you just want to spend some time in our local area you'll find plenty of great restaurants and shopping in the immediate vicinity (all within walking distance) of home. The NJ Light Rail is located just several blocks from here if you fancy a trip to the Newport Center Mall In Jersey City, Liberty Science Center or Liberty State Park.
For folks attending events at Met Life Stadium in NJ, you're just 35 minutes from home via bus or 15 - 20 minutes by car.
** VERY IMPORTANT LOCAL AIRPORT INFORMATION: If at all possible I recommend traveling through JFK Airport (New York) Or LGA Airport (New York) and avoid Newark Airport (EWR) because it is rated the worst airport in our area for public transportation. Starting October 2022 Newark (EWR) will be removed from the "NYC City Code" which means it will no longer be considered part of the NYC Airport System. The consequences may be higher prices all around, including with local transportation. It is currently very difficult and expensive to use any type of local transit when traveling from EWR to our surrounding cities***
PAYMENT: Balance due payment arrangements must be made immediately after completing booking by contacting the host. Balance can be paid via PayPal, REVOLUT, Venmo, CashApp, Zelle, WISE or CASH upon arrival.
All booking requests made at last moment (within 14 days of arrival) must be paid in full within 24 hours of booking. Cancellations or no-shows for LAST MINUTE bookings will NOT be refunded. No-show bookings will be cancelled at midnight on scheduled arrival day. (This applies to "last minute" bookings only)

About the Area

The bus stop for buses to and from New York City is just a 1 minute walk away. As of Feb. 2024 we now have a large paid public parking garage just around the corner from home at a cost of $5.00 per day after 9PM (Evening) to 7AM (Morning). Parking pass can be purchased on site or using the West New York Parking App. There are also charging spots available for electric vehicles but the charge output is a bit slow. In June 2024 New York City will be charging additional tolls (NYC Congestion Pricing) in addition to regular tolls for vehicles entering or traveling within the City making it very expensive to use personal vehicle within certain areas (Please Google search "NYC Congestion Pricing Plan" for updated information). There are several area parks, one of which offers breathtaking views of the New York skyline. Many shopping and dining options in our area are all within walking distance if you do not want to travel to New York. To our home from Port Authority NY, take #159 or #156 NJ Transit Bus to Bergenline & 57th Street. Walk to 56th Street and make left. House is 3/4 block on left side

House Rules
The room and apartment must be kept in the condition in which it was received. There is no food items or eating allowed in bedroom and living room (especially on couch) and a cleaning/replacement fee will be assessed for food spillage on linens, rugs and couch if stains are nut removable. Access to the kitchen and living room is allowed at all times but must be kept clean.
Smoking is not allowed in the room or in the apartment or in front of building (STRICTLY ENFORCED, SMOKERS WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE AND NO REFUND WILL BE ISSUED). No drug use (including medical marijuana) will be tolerated. As per the State Of New Jersey, recreational use of marijuana is allowed in a private home. This is not a private home as there are 5 other tenants/families that reside in this building. HOST HAS ASTHMA AND CANNOT TOLERATE SMOKING OR VAPING OF ANY KIND
Need to respect other tenants in the building. Noise level MUST be kept low due to elderly tenants who reside in building. Property monitored by 24-hour video.
Sorry, due to host allergies, pets are not allowed.

We had a lovely stay with Eddie, he is very friendly and welcoming. His place is great and has everything you need. We only stayed 2 nights and would have loved to stay more! The location is also great, just a bus ride away from Times Square and lots of food options and grocery stores around. His kitchen is equipped with all the essentials and more, so we also cooked our own meals. On check-out day we had a hard time leaving and Eddie let us stay until late afternoon which was amazing. Thank you for your hospitality, Eddie!

Eddie's place is super clean and has all the comforts of home. I have stayed in hundreds of places and this one is one of the best! He is also an amazing host. Very friendly and helpful. West New York is a great safe city. There are hundreds of shops, restaurants, supermarkets nearby. A quick 30 mins bus will take you to the heart of Manhattan.

There's no words to describe how well equipped and clean the flat is, comfortable, quiet and in a very safe and nice neighborhood that is super well connected with busy NY. BUT the most important thing is how well communicated is Eddie since the very first moment you make a booking. He is helpful in every manner and fully dedicated to the well being of his guests. An extremely kind man that will read you to respect your privacy if you need it but also be open to chat about anything too.
We feel terribly lucky to have found this homestay for our stay in NY. The only bad thing is that we can't stay longer .

Really nice place great host super quiet , which is very important. Neighborhood is ok .eddie very gregaious affable guy . Hope to stay again . Kitchen and bathroom lots of new things . Garbage cans motion activated. Keyless locks.

Eddie is an adorable person. The apartment is excellent; you can take an 18-minute bus to Port Bus Terminal, so it is easy to roam around New York. Eddie welcomed me to his lovely house. Sometimes, we chat about some stuff, and he treats those who rent to him like a family! I stayed there for two weeks during peak season, and everything was so good! I also met many people when I visited New York, and when I told them where I was staying and how much I was paying, they were so surprised as most of the hostels when I went to New York cost three times higher than the price I was paying with Eddie's place. I liked how I could also cook in Eddie's kitchen as everything is available there! The apartment is always clean, too! I will refer this to my close friends and will stay here again when I return to New York! Thank you so much, Eddie! You are like a family to me now! Thank you, brother!

Mon séjour chez Eddie a été extraordinaire à tous égards. Ce qui a rendu cette expérience véritablement mémorable, c'est l'hospitalité exceptionnelle d'Eddie, qui s'est avéré bien plus qu'un simple hôte.
Eddie est un hôte chaleureux, accueillant et plein de bons conseils. Au-delà de fournir un logement plus qu'équipé, propre, et en tout point parfait, il s'est rapidement transformé en un ami précieux.
L'emplacement de sa résidence à West New York, bien que semblent être éloigné à première vue, s'est avéré être une excellente surprise. Avec un seul bus, j'ai pu rejoindre chaque jours le cœur de Manhattan en environ 15 minutes.
En effet bien que la partie centrale de New York reste ce que l'on veut voir le plus. West New York est essentielle à connaître, offrant des tarifs plus abordables tout en permettant de profiter d'une atmosphère plus paisible, éloignée de la grande foule. Il y a de nombreux magasins à proximités, attraction touristique (point de vue), restaurants.

Staying with Eddie was just amazing. Everything was perfectly organized. Eddie makes you feel home away from home (his words ). We had a nice time, nice chats and laughs on the morning/evening with him. He gives you tips and tricks in case needed. Just the best way to experience New York City, the bus takes you there in 20min. Loved the neighborhood where we stayed. I could only recommend to stay with Eddie. Thank you, Eddie for the good care! How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) and a 25% deposit using a choice of payments: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal. The deposit is collected in advance on behalf of the host to protect against no show or late cancellations (within 7 days of arrival). You then pay your host the balance due on arrival. The 25% deposit payment is made to the host 2 business days after your scheduled arrival date. This deposit payment will only be refunded if you cancel the booking at least 7 full days prior to arrival.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
