We are a friendly, professional, four person family (mom, dad, a girl age 12, and a boy age 14). We have two small dogs that love to cuddle. Mom is a high school teacher in the Coquitlam school district, and dad is a film technician. Our house is located on a greenbelt close to many schools (Heritage Woods, Gleneagle, Pinetree, and Douglas College), community centres, pools, libraries, and the Coquitlam centre mall. There is a bus stop one block up from our house.
The room is a bright ground level (walk out) bedroom with a large window. It has a queen size bed (with all the bedding) and night table, desk and chair, dresser, good size closet, two lamps, bookshelf, and an alarm clock. You will have a semi-private bathroom (would only be used on occasion when we have a guest at our house - grandparents visiting), and access to the rest of the house. We have high speed wireless internet, you will also have your own washer and dryer to clean your clothes.
We enjoy being outdoors, hiking, swimming, biking, traveling, and snowboarding. We also enjoy quiet family time - reading, movies, games, puzzles, and baking. We have been to several different countries as we enjoy traveling, learning about different cultures, and enjoy trying new foods.
What we are looking for in a student: female student who is friendly and wants to feel like a part of our family. Dinner will be made for you each night; however, you must make your own breakfast and lunch. You must keep your bedroom clean and clean your bathroom. All meals are included in the price.
We eat healthy meals and enjoy trying new recipes. Breakfast is typically cereal, toast, pancakes/waffles, eggs, and smoothies. Dinners vary from typical Canadian food, Mexican, Japanese, Italian, Indian, Greek, and some vegetarian meals.
We have hosted eight homestay daughters in the past and are still in contact with them and their families because of the positive experience that was had by all.
No smokers as we are allergic.
Unfortunately we are unable to you pick up from the airport.

About the Area
The bus stop is a two minute walk from the house and it takes you to the Coquitlam transport center (bus, skytrain and WestCoast Express) in 10 minutes.

House Rules
We expect the student to be respectful (as we are of them). They are responsible for keeping their room clean (washing their sheets, vacuuming, emptying the garbage) and no food in their bedroom.
There is no smoking, vaping or drinking allowed. Shoes are not to be worn in the house. No guests unless you have asked first.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
