Rencontrez Samantha
The stay was just not good enough to be written about however it might just serve as some guiding principles for all such naive explorers like me who only rely on couple of online feedback and have no means to ascertain as to whether these are anyways close to reality at all. My experience of staying at Samatha Homestay fell far short of being called good however was still hesitant about providing this candid narrative about my experience as you may find contrary accounts narrated by other reviewers but I guess its important to get an account of good and bad both and then decide based on your own analogy of things. I have to be honest about things so here it goes: I was given an extremely small room with stairs leading quite downwards to the room from the main floor. Washroom too was placed up at the main floor level and made the very approach to it way too awkward as every time even while half asleep you are required to walk up the stairs to access the washroom. The room in one word could be described as "claustrophobic" and the same being by the road side it is noisy enough to unsettle you from any serious occupation that you wish to pursue including any office work or any serious reading. The non-availability of internet (wi-fi has extremely poor or zero connectivity and was all the more troubling till I decided (for want of any other option) to use my own data card). Surprisingly there is no arrangement of any food or even tea or coffee or mineral water contrary to my experience at other home-stays which added to the inconvenience as it only offers a list of few numbers [affixed on the door of the room] of some food outlets which deliver subject to their terms and conditions - which is all up to you to deal with as there is an old woman who is there to attend to the guests however her condition and age actually warrant things just the other way round i.e. some care and attention to her by someone. Well, tea or coffee freaks and vegetarian people or people who are used to home made food or have office or other work to do which leaves little scope to venture out in the den of non-vegetarian food anyways should avoid this place and should rather find a hotel or decent guest house in some other areas (which are not so terribly chaotic) where these major constraints are addressed. I was constrained to move out earlier due to the extreme suffocation I faced at this place and thankfully due to availability of a decent guest house elsewhere at better place so had to pay the costs literally - my discounts were reverted back and I was charged much higher for the duration that I stayed for. Not a good experience honestly.
