Hi there, we have a single room available to rent in our family home in Knocknacarra, just outside Galway City.

This room would suit a student, postgraduate student or couples looking to explore Galway City and surrounding areas for a short stay.

The city & UCG (University College Galway) are accessible via City Direct bus. There are 2 buses that will bring you to the University campus and the city centre. Student leap cards are accepted on these buses too.

The room is slightly larger than a standard single room and has day a bed. So, you’ll have a double bed to sleep in, it’s so comfortable, we padded it with more bouncy stuff so it’s lovely!
And, It easily doubles up as a comfy space to just sit and relax.

Bathroom has the usual, toilet, wash basin and a bath/shower. Towels & bed linen are provided but feel free to bring your own too.

We also have two Jack Russell terriers that will bark when you walk in but will be licking you in no time. So, no dog fearing folk please.

We will supply breakfast items like cereals, bread and milk etc, but other meals won’t be provided. But, the use of all the kitchen is always available to you to cook your own meals.

Laundry room is available where there’s a washing machine and separate dryer. However, with the cost of energy, we ask that you use the dryer sparingly. Thanks!

A bit about us, your hosts.

My name is Siobhan and live here with my wife, who is a nurse, and 7yr old daughter. I am freelance hair designer and stylist and I work as an entertainer with Sing Along Social. I love the theatre and literature and we also love music & film. Our home is a busy one, a typical family home, so, if you are looking for extreme quiet, this is not the place for you. Children come and go, dogs bark, we chat etc.

So, if you consider yourself sound and respectful, and want to live in a bustling family home, we would love to welcome you.
And, we love to welcome fellow rainbow hearted humans also!

Housekeeping

Although we are party people and love nothing more than to kick back, we can’t allow gatherings of any kind in our home. Nor can we accept late night disturbances, so, that’s coming in at all hours holding your heels and kebab… that kinda thing.

We can’t accept anyone that has a problem with our family unit, if we experience any sort of problems, we will ask you to leave our home. Please do not book if you do. Thanks!

That’s it, so If you are liking the sound of living with us for a bit, we’ll see you at home!

Siobhan.

About the Area

Our house is located approximately 10-15 minutes drive from the busy & vibrant Galway City and 10 minutes from NUIG, both of which are accessible by bus. The bus stop is a short walk from the house.
Knocknacarra has four supermarkets, Aldi, Lidl Tesco & Dunnes and are all relatively close to one another. The closest beach is Silver Strand and you can walk there through the stunning Barna woods if you were looking for a longer walk. But by car, you’ll get there in 5 mins from our house. The woods are a 4 minute drive and are magical all year round. Cappagh Park is a 10-15 min walk 3 min drive from where we live and has a car park. You can walk to the woods from there also.
There’s a nice local pub/ restaurant that serves food all day and you’ll catch any match of interest there too.
