A ten min walk and you are down at the Village of Shankhill where there are plenty of shops, supermarkets & buses into the city centre. The 145 & 155 Bus leaves every 6 mins and drives by UCD & Trinity.
This house ONLY provides Bedrooms & Bathrooms.
However, the owner of the house is a qualified chef and can provide meals (Mon-Friday
Half Board (Light Breakfast .& Packed Lunch) (10 euro extra)
Full Board (Light Breakfast, Packed Lunch & Evening Meal) (18 euro extra)
Evening Meals are mostly home-made !
*As we are a 10mins walk to bus stop, if weather is bad during winter, heavy rain etc, the owner is happy to drive you down to the Bus... :)

House Rules
We both rise quite early (8am) and are in bed by 11pm. I am a non smoker and don't allow smoking in the house. Feel at Home !
There is free parking, I can also provide Hot meals in the evening for a very small cost ! (I am a qualified cook so it will be tasty !) We have bikes here also to borrow.

I stayed in the house for 2 months. During this period I had tranquility and comfort to carry out my studies and work.
Yvonne was always very attentive and helpful.

Je m'attendais à rencontrer d'autres nationalité en séjournant là-bas, en discutant avec la famille etc... Ce fut légèrement le cas pour les 2 premières semaines mais après ça, l’expérience s'est dégradée.
Cela a commencé par une soirée organisé par Yvonne en pleine semaine jusqu'à 4h du matin, alors que nous travaillions le lendemain. Puis cela a continué par le fait que Yvonne continue de dire que je faisais trop de bruit lors de simples appels avec ma famille (en pleine après-midi) alors qu'elle ne se limite pas sur le bruit de ses activités.
Ensuite, la qualité des repas, soit disant "grande cuisinière" : 90% de ses repas n'étaient que des aliments surgelés et juste réchauffés, sans compté les repas du midi étant justes 2 malheureux sandwichs.
Enfin, pour les équipements disponibles, je n'avais pas d’accès à la cuisine ( c'était prévu dans l'annonce, pas de problèmes) mais des équipements que je devais avoir dans ma chambre, comme un frigo, m'était refusé ( car l’accès à la cuisine est interdit en dehors des repas). J'ai du demandé plusieurs fois pour y avoir accès.Honnêtement, c'est la seule chose que je n'ai pas aimé pendant mon stage en Irlande.

The house is so far to Cherrywood, like 30 minutes and she said it's just 15 minutes. I can't use anything in the kitchen, and if I want to clean my plates and everything she said that I need to buy a soap to clean my things and a teal to dry my plates and everything that I need. In the bathroom I had not soap to clean my hands for example. So when I arrived I can not believe. I do not feel comfortable.

It was a marvellous experience staying at Yvonne's place. Her dog and her son, Shane is also very friendly and being very helpful. She even inbited us to a free dinner! Amazing stay at her place!

Yvonne called off our visit just as I was boarding a plane in Hamburg. The result was an incredibly stressful week searching for accommodation in a city where a single rugby match, a concert and/or a little sunshine makes people suddenly double or even triple their prices. As I wasn't on wi-fi most of the week, later mail from Yvonne - saying she could put us up after all, arrived only three days later. I wrote back immediately, only to be told that as I had't replied to her mail, she had left town for a few days. All in all it was all very frustrating and expensive for us. I trust that I will not be charged for this non-stay.

My last review disappeared, and now it's been a year since I've stayed with Yvonne. Her house is lovely and big. She, her son and the two dogs made us feel comfortable. But unfortunately she was fully booked this time.

Yvonne is a really good host who cook very deligthful breakfast. The home is beautiful and calm and the dogs are realy kind. Shankhill at ten minutes walk has some stores and bring to Dublin by line 145. Really good homestay.
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) and a 25% deposit using a choice of payments: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal. The deposit is collected in advance on behalf of the host to protect against no show or late cancellations (within 7 days of arrival). You then pay your host the balance due on arrival. The 25% deposit payment is made to the host 2 business days after your scheduled arrival date. This deposit payment will only be refunded if you cancel the booking at least 7 full days prior to arrival.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
