Pavan and his wife were amazing. My two month stay in Kolkata would not have been the same without them! From the moment I arrived, I was treated like a close friend. As a solo female traveler, Pavan went above and beyond to make sure I was safe at all times. For example, when my phone was stolen, Pavan went with me to the police station to help file a report. The Mukherjees have also helped with things from connecting me with a good tailor to assisting with the arrival of packages. The food was spectacular! I had absolutely no need to eat out because Mrs. Mukherjee's food was better than any restaurant I visited. The room is very pleasant. Perfect for solo travelers or couples. Great balcony and view of the park! In good neighborhood. New Alipore is very safe, quite, clean, and residential. However, it is not extremely central (a bit south of central Kolkata).
